Cheese

I had peking duck for lunch with my coworkers.  Let me tell you, it was out of this world!!!  Still drooling thinking about it....yummm...I should have taken some pictures of it.  They brought out the whole duck and the chef came out to slice the duck into thin slices of goodness.  Then a waiter wrapped the slice of crispy duck skin in pancake with scallion and dark duck sauce.  So I had a good day at work.

I love having a big meal on Friday nights but because of my big lunch, I wasn't hungry for dinner.  We had a 'light' dinner of cheese and wine.

We had some slices of capicola and fresh mozzarella with basil and pine nuts.  Oh, I also had some St Andre's cheese which is always nice. =)

Passion fruit Creme brulee

I finally bought a blow torch from Amazon so I had to put it to a test.  Of course, I had to make a creme brulee but it wasn't just a creme brulee.  I made a passion fruit flavored creme brulee.  I used something called passion fruit compound introduced by my sister who is a pastry chef and a vanilly bean.  The most exciting part of course was the burning sugar part.  Loved it and fun!

Chicken Tagine

So I made one of my favorite dishes today, Chicken Tagine. It was delicious as always with lots of sweet apricots and toasted almonds. I also made some couscous to go with the dish. I can't wait until I eat the leftover tomorrow night. That's the beautiful thing about making stews. They actually taste better the next day.

For dessert, I just had a piece of Japanese red bean donut which I am sure has more calories than the tagine. =p
